The first attorney in his family, Javier Perez came from honest and humble beginnings. His parents worked manual labor in the fields and went on to earn doctoral degrees. Their hard work and persistence instilled in him the crucial importance of justice, fairness, dignity, and opportunity. As Mr. Perez grew up, he saw those ideals remain out of reach to many others in his community, and learned how the law is a powerful tool to achieve universal fairness and social change. A future lawyer and leader was born.

Mr. Perez attended the University of Texas School of Law, where he interned with Austin’s Equal Justice Center, a non-profit organization that advocates for employment justice for all low-income workers, regardless of their immigration status. Mr. Perez was also elected the President of the Chicano/Hispanic Law Students Association, as well as an articles editor for the Texas Hispanic Journal of Law & Policy, which serves as an academic forum for legal issues that affect Hispanics and Latinos. These experiences in law school not only fulfilled his childhood dream to bring justice to his community, but inspired him to continue to do more.

After graduating from law school, Mr. Perez has dedicated himself to the community in Dallas and risen to leadership roles in a wide array of social justice causes, including:
